Apostle Lorna Henry’s Biography

Apostle Lorna Henry has committed her life to being a bond-servant for the Lord. Being restored back to Christ for over three decades, is a strong demonstration that she is in this to the end.

lorna-headshot-218x300A native of the island of Jamaica, Apostle Henry understands the work and the need to setting people free. Being a former slave to sin, Apostle Lorna is fully aware that sometimes it takes repeated attempts to get to the heart of someone who may be lost and stuck in their own way.

She achieved her education at the Anchovy Secondary School in St. James Jamaica and it is their that she realized how vital  it is for the youths of today to have a balance spiritual and physical life. She can relate to those who have experienced violence and tragedy in schools, including gun violence, rape and drugs. She accredit this type of behavior to dark forces and demonic spirits which the Bible often talks about.

Apostle Henry has the heart and the anointing for delivering families and leaders in ministry. She knows how important it is for a family to praise together and stay together. She is the third child of Winston Glling and Esther Housen, the one thing her mother instilled in her, was that church is an integral part of life and attendance was necessary and required. Her passion is, to teach believers that their relationship with Christ is the most important part of their Christian walk. This comes from her own misunderstandings following her baptism and receiving Christ.

Working diligently to spread the gospel and raise up disciples has become a lifestyle for Apostle Henry, not a Job. She has brought many to Christ over the years while also laying hands as the Lord release the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Gift of Tongues on so many.  She speaks of her own experience about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Gift of Tongues, receiving both at the same time, placing her in the presence of the Lord for over an hour while being filled with the Spirit… That experience has given her the conviction to serve God and labor in the Kingdom, and to help as many people experience the same encounter if not greater, than the one she had.

Apostle Henry, like so many passionate believers, desired to spread the gospel to everyone, so she asked the Lord for the opportunity to travel across the regions to do so.

Her first assignment was to spread the gospel in Fort Lauderdale Florida and God opened every door to place her in that territory. Her commitment to pleasing God, and her show of gratitude for what He was doing in her life, would initiate in her next steps.

In July of 1999, following her ministerial studies at The School of The Prophets in Fort Lauderdale, Apostle Lorna Henry founded Jesus Deliverance Ministries Inc. where she started her journey as the Associate Pastor and a spiritual mother to many and in 1990 she was installed as an Apostle by the right Dr. E. Garcia Shorter.

Being a survivor of divorce, gave her a profound understanding of failed or broken marriage and the warfare that Christian marriages face daily. She now dedicates a large percentage of her time and ministry, helping to mend and bring healing to those who have suffered and are victims of  broken marriage. “The darkness that’s sometimes found in these situations, can keep, not only the spouses, but also their children in bondage; that bondage chain, can become a long stretch into many generations”… explains Apostle Henry .

“I know I am walking under a heavy fire anointing of Deliverance, that requires me to live a righteous life, as I am under heavy scrutiny by the devil who is waiting to accuse me of sin which could cost lives and souls. If I could say it as Isaiah said it The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.”  Isaiah 61:1-3″
